Install Windows XP without Floppy Disk Drive

Some laptops are designed for Windows Vista, there are no problem when installing Windows Vista on this laptop, but when i tried to install Windows XP on it, this laptop cannot detect the hard drive ! After a few days trying I've come to the solution.

Part One
1. download the SATA driver here SATA AHCI but in this tutorial we need usb floppy drive, its hard to find usb floppy drive for me. - I want to install Windows XP without Floppy drive...

You can install windows XP on the laptop without USB floppy drive, just include the SATA driver to your Windows XP CD using nLite

nLite is a tool for permanent Windows components removal and pre-installation Windows configuration. After removal there is an option to make bootable image ready for burning on cd or testing in virtual machines.
With nLite you will be able to have Windows installation which on install does not include, or even contain on cd, the unwanted components.

on guide part2 your screen must look like this :


Locate driver and select "Textmode",
then select "Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M/DH)"



keep follow the guides ... and from nLite select direct burn to blank CD to build your new Windows XP CD with built in SATA driver :) tested and 100% working on almost acer model INTEL!

Part Two

Integrate Driver into Windows Installation CD using nLite

This tutorial show you how to integrate driver into Windows Installation CD :)

1. Insert your original Windows Installation Disc then copy all files into folder in your local disk.
2. Download nLite here

3. Install nLite and open it.




click "Next"

4. Locate Windows XP installation files in your local disk.







click "Browse"



Click "OK"



Click "Next"

5. Just click Next
















6. Select task like on picture



7. Click insert > select "Single driver" > locate the driver and click "Open"







8. Select driver like on the picture and click "OK"

you can select all of the Mobile drivers or all drivers (I have tested it), press and hold Shift then use your mouse to select all drivers.



9. nLite window will look like this... just click "Next"



10. Do you want to start the process? Click "Yes"


11. When process finished, click "Next"



12. If your CD-RW/DVD-RW is empty, insert blank CD, do not use DVD and click refresh button.


13. After you click refresh button, select "Direct Burn", select the lowest burn speed, and click "Burn". Dont forget to check "Verifiy" (optional)




14. Please wait ... ;)



15. When burn and verifiy process completed, click "Next"



16. Enjoy your new Windows Installation CD built in Driver for SATA AHCI :)



Please remember...
different chipset = different ahci driver
